My senior year we given a semester-long project to inspire what our professor called an amusement park - a broad term for some sort of experience that can be as personal or public, micro or micro as we chose. There were no limitations here, we were encouraged to freely imagine and explore the narrative.
Within three months we were required to complete research, writing, planning, conceptualization, spatial design, branding, and digital experience design. I chose a music-making experience as I felt there was a disconnect between the music industry and experiences in which the public could create their own music without equipment or professional experience. This experience would give the public the tools they don’t have access to. The concept roughly involved light projection, floor projection, touch screen walls with turn tables, black light, and motion sensors.
